The Role

PokerNews is looking for a Content Designer to join our team based in Leeds.

Why we need you

Besides being the leading authority on all things poker, PokerNews operates in different verticals, including casino and free-to-play online games. Reporting to the Senior Casino & Gaming Manager, we’re looking for a content designer with a strong SEO background to deliver high-quality, structured content, primarily for various casino and free-to-play projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writing compelling and engaging evergreen casino-themed content, to drive search traffic that converts users into players.
  • Providing copywriting for casino and game review content across key markets around the world.
  • Designing and writing strong conversion pages across both casino and free online gaming verticals, to meet commercial revenue targets.
  • Assist with delivering the casino content strategy including:
  • Growing the structure of both casino and gaming
  • Suggesting new page layouts and designs
  • Improving the quality of imagery and media across both sections.

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a content designer with a solid technical background but still a copywriter at heart who knows how to produce an engaging page of copy for an online audience.

You possess excellent writing skills, have knowledge of keyword research and how to write to drive SEO performance, and know your way around key UX principles.

You should be up to speed with the wider iGaming industry and its verticals (such as casino, slots, and free-to-play online games), or interested to learn about it.

Fullstack Web Developer

The Role

PokerNews is looking for a Fullstack Web Developer to join our team in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Our Product Team is growing, and we are looking for a developer who will assist the frontend and backend teams in delivering an outstanding poker (news) experience. We are in the process of rebuilding our product and are looking for someone who feels passion for the code and sees the beauty in it.

Who we’re looking for:

You will be directly reporting to the Tech Lead and you will:

  • Work in a Product Team of seven people in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Decouple monolith application into smaller services using different techniques (micro-services, micro-frontends or service layer pattern).
  • Write tests (unit, functional or integration)
  • Provide feedback through peer code review

Your experience:

  • git – we use GitHub
  • proficiency with ReactJS or similar Javascript framework
  • php – familiar with Symfony or similar PHP framework
  • understand how queues work.
  • Experience with the RabbitMQ would be a bonus

Office Support Executive

The Role

PokerNews is looking for an Office Support Executive to be based in our Lithuania office.

As Office Support Executive, you will ensure the efficient operation of our office and services and provide support to various areas of the business. This will include managing the day-to-day running of the office, carrying out administrative duties such as filing contracts and agreements, as well as acting as a point of contact for staff regarding enquires about using internal systems. You will also help to make travel arrangements and support the Senior Management team, HR operations, and Finance teams as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing general office operations, creating a positive working environment.
  • Answering phone calls, scheduling meetings, and supporting visitors.
  • Providing support to the finance and data teams.
  • Onboarding new suppliers and processing invoices.
  • Working with the HR Business Partner to ensure key messages are delivered to staff.
  • Supporting induction programs for new employees.
  • Organising company events and managing a calendar of social events, both locally and for the wider business.
  • Translating documents from English to Lithuanian from time to time.
  • Support with travel and accommodation bookings.
  • Provide administrative support and create reports and documents to support the Senior Management team.

  • Managing office budgets.
  • Maintaining the supplies inventory by checking stock to determine the inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, and placing and expediting orders for supplies.

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a well-organized individual with at least one year’s experience in a similar role and excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Lithuanian. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel, and careful attention to detail are also required for this role.

The Role

PokerNews is looking for a CRM Specialist to join our marketing team based in our London or Leeds office.

Why we need you:

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the responsibility for marketing retention campaigns (Newsletter – Direct Email Marketing – Push Notification service): idea generation, proposal preparation, overseeing the production process, and execution.
  • Ideate and execute a plan of exclusive promotions to keep our users constantly engaged (leagues, contests, riddles, etc)
  • Write email content for Poker, Free Online Games and Casinos lovers and deliver them on a daily/weekly schedule
  • Set a push notification acquisition strategy and delivery timely content for the right audience
  • Develop automated comms routines to target relevant audience segments, e.g. Welcome Campaigns, Casino Content Cross-Sell.
  • Set a Research strategy to understand audience behaviors and preferences better, both online (e.g. Surveys) and at the Live Poker Events (official booth, info-point)
  • Segment the customer database to target marketing activities appropriately
  • Track the results and optimize the content to increase open-rate and conversions.
  • Liaise with other departments (Content, Commercial, Social) to create a CRM strategy that works across the board.

Who we're looking for:

  • English first language
  • Two to three years of experience in successfully executing CRM campaigns
  • Strong knowledge in the Gambling field to create high-quality content
  • Strong knowledge of the US market
  • Experience with CRM industry programs, such as Xtremepush
  • Knowledge of GDPR and responsible gambling frameworks
  • Commercial awareness to understand the target market and design campaigns accordingly
  • Familiarity with Gambling marketing aspects, such as bonus and promotions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (email, phone, etc.)

Global Live Events Assistant Manager

We are looking for a Global Live Events Assistant Manager to join our PokerNews team in our Leeds or London office.

Are you our next star player?

Reporting to and working with the Global Live Events Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of PokerNews coverage at live events around the world. Responsibilities will include recruiting and training live reporting staff, on-site event management and event budgeting.

You will also develop regular business plans, provide regular reports, reviews, and feedback to the Global Live Events Manager and other Stakeholders, as well as contribute to the sales targets and overall P/L performance. You will also be required to contribute to the planning and execution of the biggest global events for our Key Accounts, such as PokerStars and the WSOP.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identification of potential Live Events that fit our live reporting and/or Ad Sales strategy and assisting with securing deals with partners.
  • Manage incoming and outbound Ad-Sales with live events partners.
  • Assist with recruitment, training and management of global live events teams.
  • Serving as a lead point of contact at selected live events (agreed with Manager).
  • Assisting with tasks as directed by Global Live Events Manager related to Legal, Finance and Travel.
  • Developing trusted relationships with key partners, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors.
  • Contribute to the live events P/L (including Ad Sales) management, assisting with budget forecasting and cost analysis.
  • Clearly communicating the progress of monthly/quarterly/yearly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with commercial, product, content, and marketing teams to ensure the continued growth and quality of our Live Events offering.
  • Be a subject matter expert in live reporting and the tools we use to offer the service.
  • Travel regularly to events (as agreed with line manager).
  • Assisting with challenging partner requests or issue escalations as needed.
  • Maintaining compliance, regulatory and health and safety standards.

Who we’re looking for:

You will have solid experience with people management and strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in the poker industry and a passion for poker is a must-have.

The role involves flexible working, as hours worked may be inconsistent, and regular travel to live poker events is expected (agreed with Line Manager), which may be for significant periods for events such as the World Series of Poker and the PokerStars European Poker Tour.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Event management experience or a high-level knowledge of live and online poker.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • People management experience.
  • Previous experience of working in the Gambling industry.
