Vanessa Selbst is the best female poker player to date in live poker tournament history - based on tournament winnings. The American became the first female poker player to reach $10 million in live tournament winnings, cementing her place in poker history and helping to elevate her name as one of the most recognisable in the game. In 2018, she claimed to be retired from poker, but has since played several tournaments - albeit smaller than her usual high stakes buyins.
